Romeo Akbar Walter (RAW) benefitted from an open week with collections to the tune of Rs. 1.25 crore coming on the second Friday. Compared to the day before when Rs.2.30 crore had come in, this is a decent hold, though one now expects jumps today and tomorrow. Given the fact that there is no other film, either old or new, which collected even Rs.1 crore on Friday, the John Abraham starrer has good enough platform to consolidate from here.
The film has collected Rs.31.25 crore so far and bigger jumps from here could take it close to the Rs. 40 crore mark. That would make it a respectable total for the Robbie Grewal directed film which was catering to a restricted audience base.
Akshay Kumar's Kesari is collecting on expected lines, what with Rs.0.70 crore* coming on the fourth Friday. This is a good hold when compared to the Thursday gone by when Rs.0.95 crore had been collected. The film has accumulated Rs.147.91 crore* now and from here it should cross the Rs.150 crore mark before the weekend is through. Hit.
The Tashkent Files was the only notable Hindi release of the week and collected on expected lines. The film brought in Rs.0.40 crore* and while it is definitely low, one couldn't have expected better numbers for this docudrama affair that is quite niche. With mixed reviews coming its way, one waits to see how the film does from here. While there would be a jump for sure, what this Vivek Agnihotri film requires is real big jumps as it mainly has five days to collect before Kalank hits the screens on Wednesday.
