Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has managed to see an upswing in collections right through the weekend, hence resulting in Rs. 46.15 crores* coming in. This was the need of the hour as well since a big film like this warrants big moolah, especially when the core content is entertaining as well and deserves to be seen at the big screen.
Yes, a film of this scale, size, setting and grandeur meant that a Rs. 50 crores haul in the first three days would have had a good ring to it. Though that hasn’t happened, the good news is that the Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer has managed to bring on the momentum with every passing day, as a result of which collections of Rs. 11.10 crores on the very first day has led to Rs. 19 crores* on the third day, which is quite food. What’s needed now is that the momentum is sustained during the weekdays as well as that would set the film for a good enough lifetime total.
Of course, a final score in the upwards of Rs. 100 crores would be a core expectation but to begin with its one step at a time and for that the first major parameter would be the number of days in which Rs. 75 crores total is reached. So far the film stands at Rs. 46.15 crores* and ideally, Rs. 75 crores should be reached by coming Friday. If that indeed turns out to be the case then this Karan Johar biggie would go past the Rs. 100 crores mark before Gadar 2 and OMG 2 arrive on August 11.
