First it was Sooryavanshi, now it’s Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1 (Hindi). Till the time the Akshay Kumar starrer was playing in theatres, there was a chance that it would enter the Rs. 200 crore club. It’s a different matter that release of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Pushpa meant that it had to end its run at Rs. 197 crore. Now, Pushpa (Hindi) is going through a very similar run. The film is contention for Rs. 100 crore club entry and it would be a photo finish for it as it keeps its drive on for a Rs. 95-100 crore closure.
This can well be seen from the fact that yet again it went past the Rs. 2 crore mark, what with Saturday collections turning out to be Rs. 2.56 crore. It was after a long time when the film had marginally missed this milestone as Friday collections stood at Rs. 1.95 crore. However, the numbers have seen an upswing all over again and that has pushed its overall total to Rs. 77 crore. Today, with some push, Rs. 80 crore milestone is possible and then lost the weekdays the film will stand at least 87 crores.
If not for the curbs, closures and restrictions, Rs. 100 crore mark was a given for the Allu Arjun starrer. However the situation is different in the current times and with daily changes around where the film can play (or cannot), it is impossible to foresee how the footfalls would eventually look like.
