The Akshay Kumar led OMG 2 has taken a reasonable start at the domestic box office as the estimates indicate an opening in the range of Rs. 8.75 to 9.75 crores. The film has done well in the three national chains but there has been little business done outside of PVR, Inox & Cinepolis due to showcasing issues.
The word of mouth is positive, and that's what led to a jump in collections of OMG 2 towards the evening and night shows pushing closer to the Rs. 10 crore number. The business is expected to see a jump in collections on Saturday and Sunday and the film will be in a good spot post the opening weekend.
PVR, Inox & Cinepolis has collected Rs. 6 crores, contributing 70% to the total collections. The weekend of OMG 2 will be around the Rs. 33 crore mark and with the Independence Day holiday to come, OMG 2 has a good shot of emerging as a success story, more so because the word of mouth is positive.
