Do we have a success story in the making here? These could be early days but then Mardaani 3 is showing signs of revival. After an ordinary opening weekend and just about fair first week, the film was expected to somehow manage some traction in its second week. However, what it has done on its second Friday is better than expected. The film has gathered Rs. 2.15 crores and what makes this special is that the numbers are not just higher than Thursday (Rs. 2 crores) but also almost double of second Friday of Mardaani 2 (Rs. 1.15 crore) and much ahead of Mardaani (Rs. 1.41 crore).
Again, not that this suddenly brings the film in a zone where makers can start celebrating but then certainly, they would be feeling better. The weekend and weekdays trend hadn’t indicated any sort of revival per se in days to come but now there is some glimmer of hope that things could well get better. If the film can actually get that Saturday jump today and get into that Rs. 3.50-4 crores range today, then not just would Rs. 40 crores+ lifetime be very much possible but then it would also have a shot to go ahead of Mardaani 2 lifetime (Rs. 47.57 crores), which would be a good moral victory.
Lack of any sort of competition is helping the Rani Mukherji starrer and it’s about how much advantage it can take out of this stability of numbers. There is O Romeo and also Tu Yaa Main arriving next weekend, and then also a few other films, which would possibly as newer competition. However, Mardaani 3 needs just a few screens and shows to keep going and that’s what it would hoping for as well.
