What an amazing feat by KGF: Chapter 2 [Hindi]. The film created history on Friday when it brought in Rs. 3.85 crores mark. Other than the fact that the film has been doing stupendous business even in the fourth week to bring as much when there are several biggies struggling to bring this on their opening day, the Prashant Neel directed action drama has now also crossed the Rs. 400 crores mark. With this, it has now turned out to be only the second Hindi film to achieve this milestone after Baahubali: The Conclusion [Hindi] which stands at Rs. 511 crores.
Currently, KGF: Chapter 2 [Hindi] stands at Rs. 401.80 crores and that's an amazingly remarkable feat. In fact at one point in time around the closure of the second week, it seemed like Rs. 400-405 crores is the best that the film will do (and even that would have been quite huge). However, things turned around for the better during Eid holidays as that gave a solid push to the film right in the middle of the week. The after effects can be felt even now and that is what's allowing KGF: Chapter 2 [Hindi] to now dream of an even bigger score.
The next big milestone for the Yash starrer is Rs. 425 crores and that would also be comfortably crossed now. The kind of numbers that the dubbed Kannada film would be challenged by only something truly special that comes next. Which film would that be? Well, it can't be predicted for now, but once the promos of true Hindi biggies start coming in next, it would lead to a much clearer picture. Bollywood truly needs one of its own to do as big as well in months to come, and ideally at least two biggies should score as big. That would then be the real deal.
