It's The Kerala Story all the way. After bringing in Rs. 81.07 crores in the first week, which by the way was the second biggest Week One of 2023 after Khan movies Pathaan and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, the film is now set to break further records. For starters, it will go past the entire lifetime number of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan [Rs. 110 crores] by tomorrow morning, if not tonight itself. Secondly, it will also go past the lifetime collections of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar [Rs. 147 crores] by the close of second week, hence emerging as the second highest grosser of 2023.
How is that happening? Well, with the kind of start that the Adah Sharma starrer has taken on second Friday, the winning run is pretty much continuing quite strong. It brought in Rs. 12.23 crores which is just a few lakhs below the day before when it earned Rs. 12.54 crores. From here, the journey is only going to be upwards as today it will go past Sunday's collections of Rs. 16.43 crores. The next frontier would be to touch that Rs. 20 crores mark and one just waits to see if that happens indeed tomorrow, as that would be the biggest high for the film.
So far, the Vipul Shah production has netted Rs. 93.30 crores and while Rs. 100 Crore Club would have been entered as you read this, the real magic would be the Rs. 200 crores mark and that should happen as well in due course of time.
All Time Blockbuster.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
