The Yash Raj Films venture Jayeshbhai Jordaar which was released last week on Friday has been facing an uphill task at the box office. After a slow start of Rs. 3.25 cr, the film which featured immense promotions in the run-up to its release did not fare better over its opening weekend. In fact, the Ranveer Singh starrer saw just Rs. 12 cr coming in over its first weekend. Now at the close of its first week, the collections of the film have been similarly low-key.
In this box office report, we take a look at the opening week collections of Jayeshbhai Jordaar while comparing the same to Ranveer Singh’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 14.95 cr the film has emerged as Ranveer’s second-lowest opening week grosser, managing to surpass only Band Baaja Baaraat which had collected Rs. 9.40 cr.
Sadly, with two new releases this week in the form of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dhaakad hitting screens, the business of Jayeshbhai Jordaar has all but come to an end. While the film is expected to find a few takers in selected locations, predictions paint a rather bleak image of its collections. It will come as no surprise if Jayeshbhai Jordaar ends with lifetime collections around the Rs. 20 cr mark.
