The Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam that was released quite a while back in India only recently hit screens across the border in China. Unlike previous Bollywood releases in China Drishyam took off to a sluggish start. In fact, the business of the film was nothing like the previous releases, the reason for what was attributed to the resurgence of the Covid-19 virus in China that sent sections of the country into lockdown.
Now on its fourth day running Drishyam has managed to draw in a further USD 170,000 [Rs. 1.29 cr.] at the China box office. After collecting USD 30,000 on Day 1 followed by another USD 110,000 on Day 2, Drishyam saw a spike in collections on Day 3 with USD 220,000 [Rs. 1.68 cr.] coming in. Now on Day 4 at the China box office the film managed to draw in another USD 170,000 [Rs. 1.29 cr.] to its total collections at the China box office are currently pegged at USD 530,000 [Rs. 4.04 cr].
When compared to previous releases that have hit screens in China, Drishyam does not compare to the business of previous releases at the China box office.
Currently, Drishyam ranks as the lowest grosser at the China box office, preceded by releases like Chhichhore, Kaabil, Sultan and 102 Not Out. Going forward, the film is unlikely to see further collections being added to its overall collections that will make an impact.
