The Kortala Siva-directed Devara has taken a good start at the box office in Hindi as the NTR Jr. film has collected around Rs. 6.50 to 7.00 crores on the first as per early estimates. The film has collected around Rs. 2.75 crore across the national chains, which have accounted for 40 percent of the box office collections.
The film has done well in the mass belts, as the occupancy in single screens grew from strength to strength as the day passed by. The multiplexes were decent, but with a wide release, the occupancy could have been better. The pricing has played a big role as the makers have kept the pricing in check for the cinema-going audience. The morning shows were priced as low as Rs. 150 in premium multiplexes, and this has aided the collections.
The first weekend will be around the Rs. 30 crore mark, and the Monday hold will indicate if the film can enter the Rs. 100 crore club. Devara has opened better than Pushpa, KGF, and Baahubali in Hindi, and this puts the film in a better spot than the 3 to emerge a big grosser in Hindi.
