After much anticipation, Yash Raj Films’ Bunty Aur Babli 2 starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji and newbies Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh, released on big screen on November 19. Even with Hum Tum pair returning after a while on the silver screens, the film hasn’t received a great response.
Released across 1800 screens in India, the film collected Rs. 8.3 crore over the first weekend. Now, with one week since its release, the film has managed to earned Rs. 3.2 crore in the weekdays.
For Bunty Aur Babli 2, it’s an over and out scenario, what with the first week collections being a mere Rs. 11.15 crores. Even in a conservative scenario, the film should have accumulated this much in the first two days of its running itself. However, audiences were just not enticed well enough to step into the theatres to watch this Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherji film. The weekend was flat for the film and then during the weekdays it kept coming down. The YRF film is running in a handful of shows this week and that may just allow some more numbers to trickle in but that’s about it.
