The Ayan Mukherji directorial Brahmastra has been growing steadily day by day. Though the Ranbir Kapoor – Alia Bhatt starrer hits screens tomorrow on September 9, advance bookings for the film started nearly a week earlier. Not surprisingly, Brahmastra which also features Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy along with special appearances by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone has recorded a massive spate of advance bookings. In fact, the film has seen over 2 lakh tickets being sold across PVR cinemas properties in India alone, for its opening weekend.
As per reports, at the PVR cinemas chain of national multiplexes, Brahmastra has seen 92,023 tickets sold for its opening day translating to Rs. 3.19 cr. gross. Following this on its first Saturday and Sunday the film recorded a further 68,849 and 44,872 translating to Rs. 2.51 cr. gross and Rs. 1.62 cr. gross respectively. Essentially, from the PVR chain of cinemas alone, Brahmastra could stand to rake in a staggering Rs. 7.33 cr. gross over its first three days from advance bookings alone.
If that was not enough, other national multiplex chains like INOX and CINEPOLIS have also been reporting pretty high advance booking numbers as well. This combined with spot bookings and sales from single screens across the country is sure to propel the opening day and opening weekend collections of Brahmastra higher. In fact, as per trade estimates, Brahmastra could even surpass the Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi which had collected Rs. 26.29 cr. on its opening day to emerge as the highest opening day grosser post the pandemic.
