The Akshay Kumar-Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet – Ek Prem Katha is all set for a long run at the box office. The film had a decent opening at Rs. 13.10 cr – morning shows were okay but the film picked up well in afternoon and evening shows. Saturday was much better at Rs. 17.10 cr. and Sunday rocked at Rs. 21.25 cr. This took the weekend collections to Rs. 51.45 cr.
Now, it has come to light that Toilet – Ek Prem Katha is doing very well on Monday as well. That there is a holiday up North for Janmashtami has helped immensely. The collections of the film are expected to be in Rs. 10-12 cr range, which means a 15% drop from Day 1 and 50% drop from Day 3. This is great and tomorrow would once again be huge thanks to Independence Day holiday.
There’s another holiday on Thursday August 17 (Parsi New Year) in some parts of the country and Toilet – Ek Prem Katha is expected to end week 1 in excess of Rs. 90 cr mark.
