Thugs of Hindostan starring Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan released last week on Thursday. Enjoying a festive release and a massive 5000 screen count the film took off on a high note with its opening day recording collections in excess of Rs. 50 cr. However, despite the hype the mixed reviews and less than appreciative word of mouth severely dented the overall collections of Thugs of Hindostan.
Now, after a week long run, in this box office analysis we take a look at the opening week collections of Thugs of Hindostan while comparing the same to Aamir Khan’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 140.40 cr, Thugs of Hindostan ranks as Aamir’s fourth highest opening week grosser behind his previous releases like Dangal that collected Rs. 197.54 cr, Dhoom 3 that collected Rs. 188.99 cr, and P.K that collected Rs. 183.09 cr. However, on the other hand, Thugs of Hindostan has managed to perform better than some of his other releases like 3 Idiots that collected Rs. 78.59 cr, Talaash that collected Rs. 67.90 cr, and Dhobi Ghaat that collected Rs. 10.05 cr.
As of now, with audience interest in Thugs of Hindostan waning at the box office the business of the film is likely to see an even further dip over the coming week.
