Padmaavat has entered the 100 Crore Club, and in style! On Sunday, it witnessed huge set of footfalls all over again as Rs. 29 crore* more came in. The film is seeing a good show ever since its release and though the first day was just under Rs. 20 crore due to prevailing tension, it has pretty much come on its own ever since.
The film is now standing at 112 crore* and that's a very good number as the weekdays begin. The challenge now is to keep the momentum steady as that would decide whether the film would cruise well towards the Rs. 200 crore mark or struggle in its endeavor for that double century.
As of now, the film is well on course to go past the Rs. 175 crore mark at the least. The word of mouth may have been average to very good but that hasn't deterred the progress to be smooth so far. It would be numbers from Monday onwards that would be a clear indication of whether there is any difference being made by average word of mouth or it is primarily good and more.
This is also the time when the entire team of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor can afford to sleep much better than how they may have in the last three months. It has been a two year journey for Padmaavat to move from conceptualization to release stage and the collections so far are in line with all the effort that has been put in.
If the film indeed manages to enter the 200 Crore Club, it would be time for the entire team to not just sleep better but even pop the champagne before calling it a night!
