Two entirely distinct films release tomorrow - Raaz Reboot and Pink. While the year has been known for some clashes galore, it is perhaps for the first time when two major films are releasing and none of these are in news due to their simultaneous arrival. Instead, each of these films is counting on its content to fetch audience attention, and frankly, that's the way things should be.
Raaz Reboot is pretty much aiming at reviving the horror genre since the last big horror success was Ragini MMS 2 [2014] though that had an added advantage of the erotic element [Sunny Leone]. However, even if the film takes around half the opening number of Raaz 3 [Rs. 10.47 crore] and then grows from this point in, it would be a fair outcome for it. Moreover, Raaz Reboot should have the kind of content that caters to A, B and C centers and is a massy affair. Hence, all that is needed is for the film to take a decent start and rest should be taken care of by the smart economics set by its makers [Bhatts and T-Series].
Pink, is seeing some super reports coming its way already. The film's special screenings have been taking place all through the week and the reports so far are fabulous. Producer Shoojit Sircar has clearly backed yet another powerful subject [after Vicky Donor, Madras Cafe, Piku] and with Amitabh Bachchan in great form, the film is in news for all the good reasons. Moreover, young actresses Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Andrea Tariang are said to have come up with wonderful performances. This is a quintessential word of mouth film and hence Friday evening/night shows followed by rest of the weekend would be decisive.
