Raabta collected Rs. 2 crore* more on Wednesday and that has stretched its total to Rs. 22.71 crore*. Ideally, at the bare minimum, this had to be the opening weekend score of the film. This Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon starrer boasted of some good music by Pritam (and his company JAM8) which did help it initially to some extent. Post that even though the numbers are still consistent over the weekdays, they are very low, especially when one looks at the screen count that it managed.
Behen Hogi Teri has just about managed to go past the Rs. 2 crore mark now. With Rs. 20 lakhs* more coming on Wednesday, the film is standing at Rs. 2.04 crore*. Now this was expected to be the optimal Day One number for the film, though it also has to be added that there was a lot left to be desired from the showcasing perspective. The film just didn’t have the right number and placement of shows in theaters to register much of a presence.
As a matter of fact Hindi Medium, which is currently in its fourth week, is still collecting well. Its absolute numbers are almost triple of Behen Hogi Teri (it is bringing in over Rs. 60 lakhs every weekday) while its percentage occupancy is also much higher than Raabta, considering the fact that it is running on a very low count of screens. The film is standing around Rs. 64.25 crore* mark and should almost touch Rs. 65 crore* before it enters the fifth week. Superhit!
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
