The unexpected has happened. Even though there were 10 new films that released on Friday and one expected Hollywood flick Baywatch to lead the show, none of that really happened. In fact it was Hindi Medium that came trumps all over again with collections around Rs. 1.65 crore* mark. If one compares this to Rs. 2.11 crore that it collected just a day before on Thursday, it is a very good number.
As a matter of fact it is not a major fall from its first day collections of Rs. 2.81 crore either. With the Irrfan Khan starrer running on 773 screens (and 1761 shows) currently, Hindi Medium is bound to grow further over the weekend. The film has collected Rs. 47.74 crore* already and it won't be surprising if the Rs. 50 crore mark is hit today itself. There would be a lull in collections tomorrow though due to an all important India-Pakistan cricket match.
On the other hand Sachin - A Billion Dreams is hanging on with Rs. 1.50 crore* more coming on Friday. There is a fall in numbers when compared to Thursday collections of Rs. 2.40 crore. On the other hand it is a huge dip when compared to the first day numbers of Rs. 8.60 crore. However this is on expected lines as the film has more or less got the audiences that it was aiming for. With Rs. 42.70 crore* in its kitty so far, one waits to see if there is any major jump in numbers today. The film has this weekend to collect its maximum moolah as once the weekdays kick-start, it is going to be a journey towards the close for the film.
