The fourth instalment of the Golmaal franchise hit screens on Friday. The film titled Golmaal Again which marks the return of the entire Golmaal cast with the addition of Tabu and Parineeti Chopra has been welcomed with open arms by the audience on the festive season of Diwali.
In this box office report we take a look at the opening day collections of Golmaal Again while comparing the same to previous releases that were directed by Rohit Shetty. Collecting Rs. 30.14 cr. on Day 1, the comic caper has become Shetty’s third highest opening day grosser. While the collections of Golmaal Again do not manage to surpass Rohit Shetty’s previous directorial ventures like Chennai Express that collected Rs. 33.12 cr, Singham Returns that collected Rs. 32.09 cr, it does manage to out beat other films like Dilwale that collected Rs. 21 cr, Bol Bachchan that collected Rs. 12.10 cr, Singham that collected Rs. 8.94 cr, and even the previous film in the Golmaal franchise Golmaal 3 that collected Rs. 8 cr.
However, considering that Golmaal Again enjoys the added advantage of a festive release on account of Diwali and that it faces little to no competition from new and previous releases, the business of the film is more than likely to witness immense growth over the weekend.
