It was a disheartening Monday for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as Rs. 8 crores* more came in. The film had taken a start of Rs. 28.50 crores so compared to that the Monday fall is more than 70%, which is bad. The film had stayed consistent right through the weekend but then there wasn’t much of a growth and on Sunday the collections had come down to Rs. 25.40 crores. This also meant that the film had been doing quite well primarily on the power of advance booking and hard-core Marvel fans. Still, the job was done for the film with Rs. 79.50 crores coming in.
Now from here it’s about keeping at least a decent momentum on so that Rs. 125 crores milestone can be crossed. For that to happen, Monday had to be stable and since that’s hasn’t been the case, it has to be seen how the film stays from here till Thursday. So far, the film has collected Rs. 87.50 crores* and while it will enter the Rs. 100 Crore Club this week, Rs. 125 crores should be the lifetime target.
As for KGF: Chapter 2 (Hindi), the film has its next big milestone as Rs. 425 crores, something which is there for the taking by the close of the coming weekend. So far, the Yash starrer has already collected Rs. 415.30 crores*, what with Monday further bringing in Rs. 2.50 crores*. This is in fact the first time ever that the film has done below the Rs. 3 crores mark and that’s remarkable since it’s the 26th day of the film. Usually, the films hardly collect in lakhs by the time they are in their fourth week and here the numbers stay on to be in crores. The Prashant Neel directed action drama will continue to have a good run till the arrival of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dhaakad on 20th May as this is when it will lose quite a few screens. However, by then it would have further consolidated on its all-time blockbuster status.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
