After collecting Rs. 10.36 crore on Day One, Befikre held on well with Rs. 11.60 crore more coming in on Saturday. Ideally, these should have been the Day One collections of the film. Nonetheless, the fact that there are still footfalls coming in for the film means there can be decent growth on Sunday.
The film's collections currently stands at Rs. 21.96 crore. This means that in two days flat, the film has similar collections as another romcom drama Baar Baar Dekho which had collected Rs. 21.16 crore in three days. In fact the film is just a few crore below Ki & Ka, another romcom drama catering to multiplex audiences, which had brought Rs. 25.23 crore in its first three days.
Befikre should now go past the weekend collections of Dear Zindagi [Rs. 32.5 crore] though it would be interesting to see how it matches up to Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which had brought Rs. 35.6 crore in its pre-Diwali weekend.
A bigger growth on Saturday could have allowed Befikre to come closer to the Rs. 40 crore mark which would have been much more optimal for a film that is helmed by Aditya Chopra no less. However, while that won't be the case for the Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor starrer, one waits to see the kind of distance it eventually covers.
As for the holdover releases, Kahaani 2 has accumulated Rs. 1.60 crore more between Friday and Saturday with its overall collections standing at Rs. 26.61 crore. The film is continuing to fall and would just around hit the Rs. 30 crore mark now. On the other hand Dear Zindagi is also on its way out with just Rs. 1.25 crore* more coming in between Friday and Saturday. With Rs. 62.75 crore* as the total of the Gauri Shinde film so far, it would eventually go past Rs. 65 crore and end in the vicinity of Rs. 65-67 crore.
