It’s a 100 for Border 2. In its opening weekend itself, the second instalment of the franchise has now entered the Rs. 100 Crore Club. Not that it’s a surprise since this was pretty much on the cards the moment it was announced that Sunny Deol would be returning with Border 2. There is so much potential that this combo carries and hence Rs. 100 crores in real quick time was always coming unless the product was sub-par.
Thankfully that has not been the case since Anurag Singh has made a film which does warrant a big screen viewing. Moreover, there hasn’t been a Bollywood success story since Dhurandhar and hence audiences too were craving for a true blue entertainer. That has happened now with Border 2 and results are there to be seen, what with both Saturday and Sunday being in the 40s with further growth evidenced.
As much as Rs. 57.20 crores came in and that in fact sets the stage for a Rs. 60 crores+ Monday. It’s national holiday of Republic Day and though any big day like this doesn’t mean a thing when a film hasn’t been accepted, it’s a different story altogether when it’s on the contrary. In case of Border 2, audiences have started warming up to the film and that will ensure that after Rs. 129.89 crores in the first 3 days, there is Rs. 190 crores+ score comfortably on the cards before weekdays kickstart.
