The Anees Bazmee directorial Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani was released almost two weeks ago. Since then the film, which received positive responses from the critics and audience alike, has been doing brisk business at the box office. After a good start, the business of the Bhushan Kumar – Murad Khetani productions witnessed good growth over its opening weekend, with collections remaining stable over its first week as well. Following this, the business of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 saw a spike in collections over its second weekend, with the subsequent weekdays displaying the hold the film had over the audience.
In this box office report, we look at the second Thursday collections of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 while comparing the same to previous releases of 2022. Collecting Rs. 4.21 cr on Day 14, the film has emerged as the fourth-highest second Thursday grosser of 2022. In fact, when compared to only Bollywood Hindi releases that hit screens this year, the Kartik Aaryan starrer ranks as the second-highest second Thursday grosser. Though the business of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 does not surpass previous releases like The Kashmir Files which collected Rs. 7.20 cr, K.G.F - Chapter 2 which collected Rs. 5.68 cr, and RRR which collected Rs. 5 cr, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 does manage to surpass the Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi which had collected Rs. 2.65 cr.
Going forward, it is predicted that the business of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 will see a drop in collections over its third weekend especially since the film will face competition from three new releases viz. Samrat Prithviraj, Major and Vikram – Hitlist. However, despite the plethora of releases this weekend, trade remains optimistic claiming that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has collected Rs. 141.75 cr, could close the gap to the Rs. 150 cr mark by the end of its third weekend running.
