Akshay Kumar starrer Bellbottom hit the screens on August 19, 2021 after much delay. Following the theatrical release, it was rather a slow start at the box office. According to reports, the biz has jumped by approx. 20% on the third day taking the collections to Rs. 3 crore.
As far as numbers are concerned, they are expected to jump further by 10 percent on Sunday, August 22. For now, the three day total stands at Rs. 8.35 crore. The crucial Monday figures will determine the clear picture.
The word of mouth is helping in the footfalls. Meanwhile, majority state governments are taking the calls on lifting the lockdown restrictions. The Uttar Pradesh government has also lifted the lockdown restrictions for Sunday. Cinema halls will now be allowed to operate on Sundays with the last show to be over by 10 pm given the restriction of a night curfew. That should also add to the footfalls and collections on Day 4. From Monday, August 23, cinemas in the state of Tamil Nadu have been given permission to reopen at 50% capacity. The Delhi administration has permitted cinemas to conduct night shows from August 23.
