Badhaai Do did better on Sunday as Rs. 3.45 crores came in. Anything in the range of Rs. 4-5 crores would have been a better outcome for this Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar film. After all, a new film has been released almost a month and a half after 83, and the pandemic situation has eased out. However, the subject of the film is such that one couldn't foresee audiences coming in hordes.
This was always meant to be a word-of-mouth film and one just hopes that this translates into better footfalls on the weekdays. Especially today the collections should ideally be equal, if not more than Friday numbers of Rs. 1.65 crores since it is Valentine's Day. Typically, this day has better footfalls when compared to the rest of the weekdays. Moreover, as it is Friday was low so ideally, there shouldn't be any fall.
So far, the Harshvardhan Kulkarni directed film has collected Rs. 7.82 crores. The film would need to stay at least over the Rs. 1 crore mark on each of the weekdays and looks like that should indeed turn out to be the case. After all, there is no competition for the film and the reviews too have been by and large positive. Despite the theme, it is actually a clean entertainer and that should help it sustain itself to some extent at least.
Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources
