Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mahaakshay Chakraborty, who was earlier named Mimoh Chakraborty, made his acting debut with Jimmy in 2008. The film tanked at the box office. Cut to 15 years later, the iconic actor’s younger son Namashi Chakraborty made his debut with Bad Boy and this film also met the same fate.
Bad Boy opened on April 28 with a dismal opening day number of just Rs. 10 lakhs. With such a number, the fate of the film was already sealed. The movie earned pretty much the same on Saturday as it could manage only Rs. 12 lakhs. Its Sunday number stood at Rs. 15 lakhs, which virtually meant it had no growth.
The opening weekend collections for Bad Boy stood at a negligible Rs. 37 lakhs, making it one of the biggest box office disasters of the year.
What’s even worse in the case of Bad Boy is that it’s directed by one of the top filmmakers from Bollywood Rajkumar Santoshi. Interestingly, in the case of Jimmy, it was directed by Raj N Sippy, the man who gave us iconic films like the Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini starrer Satte Pe Satta and Thanedaar, which starred Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit.
