It seems like the second part of director James Cameron’s magnum opus Avatar is heading for a massive opening at the domestic box office. Being one of the most anticipated Hollywood releases of recent times, Avatar: The Way of Water saw its advance bookings open nearly a month before release. Now, as we near the release on December 16, it looks like booking for the film has picked up the pace. In fact, as of Thursday at 10 AM, Avatar: The Way of Water has seen sales of over 5 lakh tickets across major national multiplex chains in India.
As per reports, Avatar: The Way of Water has managed to sell 5,49,774 tickets for the first three days of its release. While a major number of sales have been clocked for its opening day on Friday, December 16, its second and third days are not far behind. Given this massive rate of advance bookings, it is likely that the collections of the film will see an opening in the high double-digit range of Rs. 30-40 cr.

In fact, given the positive reviews in both the domestic and international circuits, coupled with the massive spate of advance bookings, and the wide release chances of the film’s business registering in excess of Rs. 100 cr over its first weekend is high.
