Animation and gaming company DQE has entered into an exclusive broadcasting deal with Turner Entertainment Network Asia (TENA) for broadcasting the 3D animated series Iron Man across Asia. The series will be broadcast on TENA’s leading kid’s channel, Cartoon Network, in 2010 across the entire South Asia and South East Asian region.
Iron Man is a co-production with Marvel Animation and Method Animation, France. DQE holds the sub-distribution rights from Method Animation, under which the deal with TENA has been signed.
Commenting on the deal, Tapaas Chakravarti, Chairman and CEO, DQE said, “We are very pleased that Cartoon Network has acquired the property for broadcast in this region. Iron Man is an iconic property and we are happy that it has found a world-class and renowned partner in Turner Entertainment.”
Mark Eyers, Vice President – Content, TENA, said, “Iron Man is another fantastic property that is joining the ranks of such powerful shows as Cartoon Network’s own Ben 10 and along with other titles from the Marvel universe.”
Iron Man is the legendary superhero first appearing in the pages of Marvel Comics. Two previous television incarnations and a live action film have considerably increased Iron Man’s popularity.
