India’s largest animation festival Anifest India ’09 has been rescheduled to 18-20 September at the IIT Powai, Mumbai. The Animation Society of India (TASI), the organizers, had postponed the festival from August due to the swine flu scare.
Announcing the new dates, a TASI statement said, “We have close to 1,500 registered participants coming from all over the country. This year’s TVCA films boast of some brilliant student, professional as well as teachers’ films. Besides, a majority of our speakers have already confirmed their participation in September. So the stage is all set for a high energy animation carnival.”
TASI also thanked the animation community for their support. “Post our decision to abort the festival in August due to the flu scare just days before the festival, we received tremendous support from the industry: our speakers, supporters, participants as well as well wishers of the community.”
The complete content flow and session details will be online at the TASI website in two days. Pre-registration for the festival is closed but spot registrations will be open at the venue on the days of the festival, subject to availability of passes. The annual multi-day festival brings together experts from animation and allied mediums.
