Well to start with i think it was a above avg movie...i didnt have any expections coz of negative reviews..but i liked it overall..the visual are really gr8 but there were serious issues in the story and i think the biggest flaw of the movie is editing..bansali did a good job in directing the movie but did a crap job as a editor..firstly there were songs for every ten min. which was really annoying though i liked the music..but it was fast forward material coz it didnt need it in story..i think he should have cut some songs and kept the sallu's and some scenes..coz sallu's roleis totally half baked..and there are alot of questions which are unanswered and i think this is responsible for all its negativity.....as i said earlier music is good but some of the songs were not needed.. now come to the performances... ranbir: firstly i didnt like him a bit in the promos but after seeing the movie..i think he did a good job as a debutant...better than i expected..yes he did went OTT in some of the scenes but also did a very good job in the other scens..overall a very good beging of the career.. sonam:my good what a beauty..and she was also good in the movie...her role could have been better but she did a very good job..and donnu y alot of peolpe didnt like her rani:she looked beautiful and performed really well..she desreves the best suppoting actress award sallu:well he did a good job..but i think slb shouldnt have cut his role coz he kinda looked wasted.. zohra sehgel:she was extremely likable. overall i thing its a good movie 3/5

This movie as Mr Taran claims is Bhansali's weakest and losiest product to date. I beg to differ. I think his ears were shut and he was probably chatting away instead of paying attention to the movie. The numerous points he brought up about the flaws of the movie were so irrelevant and once again proves that he was sleeping, chatting and had ear plugs in his ears. In the movie, Rani already mentions right at the start that the town that we are seeing is her imagination envisioning it and hence, the lavish fairytale type sets and the dim colours! Taran, listen! As for why Rani rejected Ranbir, please watch once more and know.. Its pretty clearly explained! Other than that, the movie boasts of wonderful sets, some wonderful dance choreography, nice songs (most of them) and very strong performances from its leads. Watching this movie reminded me of watching a Tim Burton movie or a Baz Luhrmann movie which usually boasts of some beautiful sets and has a surreal kind of setting. The story was just a simple one and nothing spectacular but the execution is what you would expect from Bhansali. One problem though... at certain points, the movie kind of drags. But doesn't it in most Bhansali movies? Thats his style of movie making and its time we appreciate it. Compared to the pile of shit that is Om Shanti Om, this movie is 10 times better!

Taran Adarsh annoys us again (after Vivah) with reviews that do injustice to a beautifully crafted film. Everybody who thinks so should clamor for this guy's resignation. What does he think of himself? Does the website belong to him? We really could do without his biased reviews for every SRK starrer, I guess he's paid by SRK to write great reviews for his every film. I for one found Saawariya much better than OSO. And on top of that all his stupid queries have been answered by one of the members. I loved the movie all the way: the sets, the romance, the acting, the intimate scenes, the jokes (Zohra Sehgal does it so well...) ANd kudos to SLB's direction as well as Ranbir's fantabulous acting... I was shocked, spell-bound by the magic he's weaved into his character!!! Sonam was extremely gorgeous and lovable, Rani was at her superstar best but Salman's role somewhat spoiled the show. Though the film was not better than the other SLB movies and lacked more "intimate" scenes (u never get enough of the romance SLB can churn out), I would give the film a 8 out of 10, and to OSO a 6... Hats off SLB

I am really disappointed on the things people are saying about this movie. Worst than RGV Ki Aag?? You have to be kidding me!! Saawariya has a wonderful story...it may not be a true blue masala type one but its simple, sweet, and very beautiful. I know it doesnt surpass SLB's other movies but its really a well-made movie. And the way he has treated the simple story is BRILLIANT! I bow to his direction and his excellence at what he does. Saawariya is a masterpiece! It takes you into a dream, a fairytale and leaves you wanting more. This isnt a movie for everyone thats for sure...its a whole new genre with a whole new way of direction and visuals and it needs an open mind. It requires understanding of what the director is actually trying to show and the appreciation for that. Every scene is like poetry. Its so beautiful, breathtaking, and magical! I was spellbound...what a cinematic treat! Performances, Ranbir takes it all! What a performace! I fell in love with him and his character! So charming! He is an actor to look out for because hes here for a looooonnngggggg stay. Sonam is awesome as well but a little more work and she'd be perfect. The thing is that she didnt have as many scenes or as much scope as Ranbir did in order to perform her heart out and so she became a little sidelined. But she was superb nonetheless! Rani is a star...I loved her! Everytime she came onscreen she was wonderful and I kept wanting her to come back. I enjoyed her presence thorougly! The music is sheer melody and it takes the story forward. Not one is misplaced in the screenplay and amazingly, they all have lyrics that actually go with the situation perfectly. The picturizations are nice as well. I loved Ranbir's towel song haha. The direction is superb. Only SLB can use a simple story like this and make it so beautiful! It is so different and new from what we see onscreen that people find it hard to accept. He has shown a totally new take on love...'just the feeling of being in love is enough'...its poetic right there! I loved the movie...didnt quite meet my expectations but it was wonderful! Hats off to SLB once again! Only he can make a movie like THIS!

Taran needs to consider his resignation if he gives this movie a bad review. It was wonderful. The sets were amazing. The music was lilting and the story may have been cliched, but it was handled in such a way that that fact becomes irrelevant Some answers to taran's questions: Which part of the country is this straight-out-of-a-fairytale town located? And what era are we talking of? THE MOVIE IS IN RANIS MIND, SHE SAID SO AT THE BEGINNING. ITS A MYSTICAL ERETHRAL PLACE OF DREAMS. HOW COULD YOU FAIL TO SEE THIS TARAN? Even if you subscribe to the theory that it was love at first sight for Salman and Sonam, what is it that keeps their romance going? MUTUAL LOVE. AN UNSPOKEN ATTRACTION. TARAN U HAVE PROBABLY SEEN THIS SO MANY TIMES, YET YOU FAIL TO NOTICE IT? STRANGE... Why does Salman disappear suddenly? Besides his name, the girl knows nothing about him. Not his home/native place, work/profession/work place, relatives, nothing absolutely. It's like falling in love with a shadow, isn't it? SALMAN IS A CLERGY MAN, HE OBVIOUSLY HAS WORK RIGHT? ALSO YOU HAVE WITNESSED THIS LOVE MANY TIMES TARAN SO HOW COULD U FAIL AGAIN? Why does Rani Mukerji abandon Ranbir, when he comes knocking on her doors and admits that he wants to spend time with her? Why does she lose her temper, although she secretly loves him? NOW THIS IS OBVIOUS....IF SOMEONE YOU LOVED THOUGHT OF YOU AS A REVENGE F**K, NOTHING BUT A WHORE, WOULDNT YOU DO WHAT RANI DID? And Salman returns. The sequence that follows and the culmination to the story leave you completely disgruntled and perplexed! ITS A REAL ENDING. THATS HOW THE BOOK ENDS SO WHY SHOULDNT THE MOVIE? aFTER ALL SONAM KAPOOR IS ONLY HUMAN. ALSO THE ENDING CAN BE TERMED AS BITTERSWEET AS RANBIR GOES ON TO A BETTER LIFE. As said before, the music is easy on the ears. My personal favourites were the title track, pari and masha allah. Chabeela was ok...but filmed well. The sets cant be praised in mere words calling them outstanding would be an understatement. Ranbir Kapoor gives a wonderful debut. He looks and suits his character to the hilt. Also he performs and emotes well, bringing a smile to your face. Sonam Kapoor is good, however she suffers due to her weak characterization. She could give much more. Its not her fault. However she makes the most of what she has and comes up with a natural performance. She looks wonderful aswell. Salman Khan is hardly there. Rani Mukerji is her normal brilliant self. She makes u hate and love her character. Zohra Sehgal makes you laugh. She is effective. All in all, a masterpiece of a movie! Kudos to SLB
