3.5 Very Good

Great film, incredible performance from SRK. He proves that he is the greatest actor who has ever graced the big screen, even better than the likes of veterans Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro and modern actors like Leonardo Dicaprio and Michael Fassbender. Gaurav (played by SRK) is by far the most nuanced and fascinating character coming from Indian cinema. I would place him in the ranks of Vito Corleone, Hannibal Lecter and other greats. His obsession with his favorite star Aryan Khanna (also played by SRK) is so layered and complex that the character will be studied in film schools. The plot, direction, cinematography and background score put many Hollywood biggies to shame. Some of the scenes in the film are breathtakingly good, like when Gaurav occupies the same room in a hotel as Aryan did. This is cinema at its finest. The ending is a bit ambiguous, and you will think about this film your entire life. Director Manish Sharma soars high, he will soon join the ranks of Martin Scorsese, Ingmar Bergman, Christopher Nolan and David Fincher.
