I have seen the movie with much anticipation. Hrithik as usual is an ACE in the movie. He is as far the best actor Bollywoof has accomplished yet. The movie at some pooints surpasses the original but lacks Style like big B posses in the original. Also, MIthun's role is missed a lot as humour was extremely required in this movie keeping in mind teh gore and violence shown. Its plain, its simple and predictable. I cannot call it a masterpiece from any angel. I learned two things from Agneepath, 1. Never listen to taran adarsh review as it is 100% fake and 2. ALwyas carry a pair of asprin with you just in case.

When I first heard about the remake of Agneepath, the first question which hits my mind is why the hell K Jo is trying to do so? But from the first trailer onwards, I am assure that this film can compete with expectation of the people. Today after watching the movie, I can say that this is a much better fare than the previous one. Okay, Mukul Anand's version has a cult status among the Hindi Cine Fans, but the basic reason behind this is Mr. Bachchan's National Award Winning performance and the way of his portrayal of the legendary character of "Vijay Dinanath Chauhan". But Karan Malhotra's adaptation is somehow a much powerful combination of all the component of movie. Right from the vengeance of Vijay or menaces of Kanchaa, everything seems astonishing and perfect on screen. Karan Malhotra has retained the soul of the movie but has treated it in his own way. The start and climax are almost same but the saga of vengeance is changed. And here enters one more powerful character of Rauf Lala(played by Rishi Kapoor). Thank god there is neither Krishnan Iyer M.A nor his over the top romance song with Siksha(Vijay's Sister). But here the emotional quotient of Vijay and his sister is increased much more than the previous one. Also neither Vijay nor Kanchaa try to be suave in style department. They are crime lord and they act like that. The climax is somehow much more filmy but obviously, this vendetta story needs a such kind of climax. You can't compare any actor with Big B, especially the Bachchan of Agneepath. Though Amit ji has tries to imitate Manya Surve(a real time Don of 80's) and style quotient of Al Pacino's character from Scarface. But Hrithik Roshan has ruled out all the question for comparison. Or in other words director has cleverly changed the personalty of the main character so as to make the comparisons negligible. The new Vijay is much more clever and cold blooded. And Hrithik played the newer version with great excellence. He never tries to step into the shoes of Bachchan(although he steps into the shoes of Rauf Lala in the movie). He played the character in his own way. He has the pain in his eye. The scene between him and his sister have some emotional highs. It is one of his landmark performance. Sanju Baba as Kanchaa has touched a new heights. After Khalnayak and Vastav, it is the role where he comes out even more deadlier. He is somewhat a psychopath reciting quotes from Geeta. He is far more excellent than his predecessor Dany. Now a new character of Rauf Lala played by Rishi Kapoor is top notch performance. Anyone who believe that he his only comfortable with romantic role has to see this movie which will prove them wrong. He has dwell the character perfectly. The female character has nothing to do, neither in 90's nor now. So Priyanka Chaopra is just okey according to character. The other characters like Zareena Wahab, Om Puri, Chetan Pandit, and the girl who played the character of Vijay's Sister are good in their small but important role. The child who played the young Vijay is a revelation. Ha has the same pain and anger as it has to be in the character Karan Malhotra deserve a great applause for choosing a movie like Agneepath for debut. He has provide a gentle treatment to the movie. He has edited out all sorts of Odd from the Mukul Anand's version but doesn't interfere with the soul of the movie. The dialogue from Piyush Mishra are first rate. Though it lack in numbers but they are witty and rough enough for the whistles and applause in single screen. The music is fine. Especially, Chikni Chameli which will increase the number of audience from northern belt and O Saiyyan who wants to listen some soothing music effect. Background score is excellent. It provide the feel of vengeance. Art Direction is top notch. Cinematography is okay. Choreography is good in the only item song Finally, this Agneepth is a classic tribute to the cult film. And it will surely make the character of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan much more popular and iconic.

Before I write MY review, I would like to say I had gone thru various reviews of others... and every body said NOT to compare this with the OLD agneepath... now tell me guys how we cant do that? to be frank... It was not that good as I expected. from the beginning i was wondering "AB AAYEGA MAZZA.. AB AAYEGA MAZZA" but disappointed. :( anyway efforts of EVERYBODY.. I mean EVERBODY. A Gr8 Start.... espcly Rishi Kapoor... then moving ahead to Hrithik and all.... Story moves on fast b4 intermission.... then drags afterwards. a quite changes from the original and Karan has opted a "new Agneepath' which was risky and the same time innovative. A good work done by the small boy for the Hrithik. Priyanka's role was a blink.... dont know where it started and ended... wanted more of her chikni chameli was as good as it should be.... Katrina u ROCKED!!!! hmm at last SANJU baba!!!! Hats off.... wat a pillar he was to the movie.... cant get Eyes of him.... superbly done his part.... shows wat a experienced star can bring magic and life in the reel. A overall once to go movie and enjoy my rating **1/2 out of ***** -VeeR

I had not seen original of Big B. So went with open mind and came back disappointed. a) There is no fire in Hrithik's acting or characterisation. Where is the anger sir? We don't see in his eyes or body language. Giving green eyes does not make a man angry isn’t it? b) All the hoopla around Sanjay dutts Kancha - thanks to nice trailers - is totally misplaced in the movie. As my friend who saw movie with me told rightly, Sanju walks like Munna bhai and talks like Munna bhai and not like Kancha!! How we miss Amrish Puri or Danny or Pran!!! c) Songs - Was songs really needed in this movie?? None of them - except Ganesha song - complements the flow of the movie. Even Chkni Chameli is only to titillate. Nothing else. d) Misplaced mother - son emotional scenes. There is no emotion in them. These scenes just drag the movie. e) Sound track is too loud. f) The action scenes are bizarre. Specailly the climax. The meek surrender of Kancha is unbelievable. Possibly the director wanted to end the film fast!! g) Unrealistic scenes - starting from father - son in the beginning to when Hrithik stabs the buddy of Kancha in Ganesh visarjan to the climax when Hrithik after beaten out of the blue and stabbed three times by Sanjay gets all energy to lift him and throw him down. Take a closer look at his abdomen and there is no sign of any wounds!!!! Whom are you fooling sir? The best part of the movie is Rishi Kapoor who is genuine, honest and superbly acted. I feel bad for Hrithik as i like him as an actor - among the best in India today - and person. Indian audience has moved beyond all these clichés. Be honest and don’t tout it as the @greatest drama" etc. You either have Salman Khan - Rajnikant brand of cinema which is pure "Time pass" or give us some good realistic stuff and create drama. I am not sure how Taran Adarsh has given 4.5 stars for the movie. It can be rated not more than 2 stars.

the movie a dull attempt, nothing fresh or new, hritik is an excellent actor no doubt, but the role wasnt for him, it needed someone who can depict a heroism like AB in older version, just geting a ripped physique wont make u hero, the screenplay is too dull, no high point in the movie, except the death sequence of rishi kapoor, whereas the previous agneepath had a awesome screenplay great punches by AB, and the mastero mukul anand, there were many scenes in the previous movie that raise ur pulses and make u whistle, but this one is boring, and the priyanka chopra and hritik;s sister track added more nuisance to the movie, music wasnt good, neither it was in the previous version direction was up to the mark but the director had a very dull script. hritik as i said did a good job but his persona is not of someone who can play a BHAI or a mafia he looks handsome and dude... sanju is awesome, but his role wasnt written very well, the best part of the movie i would say is RISHI KAPOOR, what an outstansding performance..

AGNEEPATH plot is same as 90's but the incident is different. Plot is good as an old AGNEEPATH. Direction is good each and every scene of the movie is just fantastic. The love sequence part of Hrithik and Priyanka slow downs the script but only for the short time. The negative characters KANCHA ana LALA are just awesome. Hrithik has potrayed the VIJAY DINANATH CHAUHAN very well he has done good acting, Sanjay Dutt is just awesome, RISHI KAPOOR also never seen before. Priyanka is just OK. whole movie is good .

'Agneepath' the much awaited K'JO , star-studded action flick is definitely going to be the first blockbuster of 2012 as expected. The acting , screenplay , direction , dialogues and music everything is worthwhile. There is no moment slow in the movie. Frankly, this is the only remake that I have actually liked. Best ever remake of a hindi film so far would be Agneepath. With the lights of Hrithik Roshan , Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor seems like nothing could go wrong. A " MUST WATCH " !

https://suvarghya.blogspot.com/2012/01/simmering-intensity-called-agneepath.html The name AGNEEPATH conjures up an image of a husky-voiced Amitabh Bachchan enacting the iconic role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan. But after 26th Jan 2012, not any more! Because Hrithik Roshan has changed that image forever. Nobody is saying that Hrithik has surpassed Amitabh, because the scope of comparison is simply not there. The modern-day Agneepath starts with the basic premise of a revenge saga as the earlier version, but takes an altogether different track from a few minutes into the movie. The film is debutant director Karan Malhotra’s version of Vijay Chauhan and his quest for Mandwa. While watching the movie, people will find it hard to believe that it is the work of a first-timer. Each and every scene of the movie is filled with a simmering intensity which keeps the audience on their seats’ edge till the climax, when it explodes into a volcano. Although 177-minute in duration, the movie never gives a scope to relax and is total paisa-vasool for the entire duration of the movie, which in itself says it all regarding Karan Malhotra’s rivetting screenplay. The film is full of drama and although being an action movie at its core, the film consists of superb emotional moments as well. Some of the scenes are a treat to watch… - When Vijay’s sister comes to meet him, the entire sequence is so heart-warming, that you feel for the characters - The scene where Vijay confronts his childhood enemy and reveals his identity with his “poora naamâ€, it sends electric pulses through your body (greeted with ceetes and taalis from the audience) Special mention must be made of the background music by Ajay-Atul. Their fantastic composition heightens the entire effect of the drama to a completely different level altogether. They have proved yet again how background score can play a significant role in a film. Their songs also get smoothly woven into the narrative. Chikni Chameli is already a chartbuster, Deva Shree Ganesha with its wonderful percussion arrangements heightens the tempo, while Gun Gun Guna makes you hum along with Sunidhi Chauhan

Here comes the first blockbuster of 2012.. Agneepath ! Agneepath! Agneepath ! After some great performances in Guzaarishand Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara,It was great to see Hrithik Roshan in the shoes of Vijay Dinnanath Chauhan. As it is a remake so the comparision with original is inevitable. Original Agneepath potrayed a middle aged Vijay, where as this Agneepath potrays a much younger Vijay who is just 27 . This is the main difference. The Original Agneepath saw an cult act from BigB,but in present world scenario That was nothing but overacting. The original film was full of potholes and unrealities, whereas this new version comes with much more realistic one but concludes with most unrealistic fighting scene.Overall i liked this new Agneepath as it is much more realistic, full of youthness, better direction, better screenplay and some outstanding performances. This will surely fetch Victory for the Agneepath time.Kudos to everyone associated with the movie.Agneepath ! Agneepath ! Agneepath!
