From Pushpa The Rise to Uppena, Mythri Movie Makers bag three National Film Awards this year

Winners for the prestigious National Film Awards were announced today, at a press meet in New Delhi. Several iconic films that contended against each other in 2021, were finally recognized during the nomination announcement. The 69th National Film Awards saw a huge competition between films among all the languages in the country. For the first time in the history of Telugu cinema, the production house Mythri Movie Makers bagged three National Film Awards for films like Pushpa: The Rise and Uppena.

After receiving a lot of love for his role of Pushparaj, Allu Arjun also won the Best Actor award this year for his performance in the Pan India blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. Interestingly, he is the first Telugu star to win a National Award in the category of Best Actor. Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad aka DSP, whose music from this action entertainer also managed to make everyone across the country groove, won the Best Music Director Award. Coming to the film Uppena starring Panja Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty, which was a runaway hit at the box office, also bagged a National Award in the regional Telugu film category.

 

 

Mythri Movie Makers expressed gratitude as they also shared the reactions of Buchi Babu Sana of Uppena and Allu Arjun after the announcement of their respective awards, on the social media platform.

 

 

Speaking of their current projects, Mythri Movie Makers are gearing up for the release of the highly anticipated Kushi, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in lead roles. The film is slated for a Pan India release on September 1 in multiple languages including Hindi.

 

On the other hand, they are also working on bringing back the National Film Award winning Pushpa franchise back next year with Allu Arjun already kickstarting shoot on its sequel, allegedly titled Pushpa: The Rule. The film is expected to feature Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in prominent roles.
