Yet another beauty queen is stepping into the film industry. Hasleen Kaur, who represented India at the Miss Earth 2011 beauty pageant, is making her big screen debut as a leading lady with Karle Pyaar Karle. What makes her Bollywood sojourn special is the fact that she is making her debut with a filmmaker (Suneel Darshan) who had given breaks to Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta (Andaaz).

 

 

Suneel Darshan is someone who has been a veteran in the business. However, he is a producer for Karle Pyaar Karle and the director is first timer Rajesh Pandey. Weren't you apprehensive?

 

If at all there were any fears, they were put to rest when I met my director. He is an exceptionally knowledgeable director. He has working with Suneel Darshans for 15 years now. The moment he narrated the whole story to me, I knew that I was in the right hands. He has got this gift to convert beautiful stories into reality. Execution is a different world altogether and he has got it to perfection.

 

 

Personally though, was there any time during the making of the film when you were too overwhelmed by the whole experience, considering this is your debut as a leading lady?

 

You know, I almost had a breakdown at one point in time when I wasn't able to keep up the pace. I remember that we were shooting in Thailand and had to get up really early every day. We were performing certain difficult scenes which caused great physical and mental stress. To be doing those things and constantly performing more and more, it took a toll on me. There was a point when I had reached my limits. Still, I kept pushing myself. There was no sleep and I was getting anxious with every passing moment. Somehow I survived that time.

 

 

Perhaps the feedback coming your way would make it worth it after all. How do you look at your Bollywood kick-start?

 

Well, it is not just the introduction of new actors but even the technicians and singers. It is a launch pad for several new talents. It is coming at a time when there are not too many films being made which are complete power packed action affairs. Every song has been shot at virgin locations. Each of these are going to be enjoyed by the audience.

 

 

Who one is your favorite?

 

'Oh Darling' is my favorite. It is set in college and we had all these friends around us when we were shooting for it. We had too much fun, more so since a lot of it shoot was impromptu, apart from choreographed sequences. We used to freak out whenever the tune was played.
