Kabir Singh Box Office Collections: Kabir Singh becomes Shahid Kapoor’s second highest first week grosser

The Sandeep Vanga directed film Kabir Singh starring Shahid Kapoor released last week on Friday across 3123 screens. After opening on a good note, the business of the film witnessed huge growth, and with positive feedback from the critics and audience alike, the collections of the film saw further jump.

Now after a week’s run, we take a look at the opening week collections of Kabir Singh while comparing the same to Shahid Kapoor’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 134.42 cr, Kabir Singh does not manage to surpass the first week collections of Shahid’s previous release Padmaavat that had collected Rs. 166.5 cr. Thanks to this, the film now stands as Shahid Kapoor’s second highest opening week grosser. On the other hand, the first week business of Kabir Singh has far outperformed the actor’s other releases like Udta Punjab that collected Rs. 48.5 cr, R...Rajkumar that collected Rs. 47.05 cr, Haider that collected Rs. 41 cr, Shaandaar that collected Rs. 40.15 cr, Batti Gul Meter Chalu that collected Rs. 32.85 cr, Phata Poster Nikhla Hero that collected Rs, 31.5 cr, Mausam that collected Rs. 28.49 cr and Teri Meri Kahaani that collected Rs. 23 cr.

 

As of now, Kabir Singh still continues to run in theatres. But with the release of the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Article 15, the film might face a bit of competition. However, expectations are that the business of Kabir Singh will see a bit of growth over its second weekend in theatres.
