Box Office: Rustom enters 100 Crore Club in 9 days, Akshay Kumar gets his sixth, Ileana scores her second

 

Rustom has entered the 100 Crore Club. The film collected Rs. 5.77 crore more on Saturday and with this, the collections have now exceeded the Rs. 100 crore mark. This is the fastest Rs. 100 crore entry for Akshay Kumar. Moreover, it is now his sixth 100 crore grosser ever:

 

Rowdy Rathore - Rs. 133 crore

 

Airlift - Rs. 129 crore

 

Housefull 2 - Rs. 116 crore

 

Holiday - Rs. 113 crore

 

Housefull 3 - Rs. 109 crore

 

Rustom - Rs. 101.08 crore (still running)

 

The film will go past the lifetime collections of Housefull 3 today and, then, Holiday on Monday. By Tuesday/Wednesday, Housefull 2's total would have been surpassed as well. From that point on, the countdown would begin for Akshay Kumar to take his Rustom past Airlift. While that should indeed happen eventually, it would be interesting to see how much further does this Tinu Suresh Desai directed film travel before coming close to Rowdy Rathore.

 

Meanwhile, Ileana D'Cruz too has scored her second 100 crore grosser after Barfi! Interestingly, she is only the 11th actress to have managed this feat where two or more centuries have been scored.

 

As for director Tinu Duresh Desai, he is the 37th director to have accomplished this milestone. A grand entry for the newbie director.
