After kick-starting its Week Two quite well, Hindi Medium is now fast entering the zone from where it would begin to go past many a milestone set in 2017. The film collected Rs. 4.21 crore on its second Saturday which is just Rs. 4 lacs lesser than what it had collected on its first Saturday [Rs. 4.25 crore]. As a matter of fact it is set to have a very good Sunday today, considering the fact that last Sunday there was IPL final and still the film had collected Rs. 5.50 crore. Today's collections should be in the vicinity of Rs. 6 crore and that would set a record for the film to have its second Sunday better than even the first Sunday.
The film has collected Rs. 32.24 crore so far and the manner in which it is going, by the time the night shows are through it should go past the lifetime collections of Naam Shabana [Rs. 37.25 crore]. The film is doing great guns and is being widely appreciated by the audiences.
While now it is a given that the Rs. 50 crore mark would be very comfortably surpassed and the Queen lifetime of Rs. 62 crore could well be surpassed as well, it would be interesting to see how it races with Half Girlfriend which released alongside it and took an opening of Rs. 10.27 crore (which was just a little lesser than four times its opening day of Rs. 2.81 crore). The Mohit Suri directed film has considerably slowed down and currently stands at Rs. 52.96 crore after bringing in Rs. 2.01 crore more on its second Saturday. The film should go past the Rs. 60 crore mark by end of second week and from that point on it would be a close race with the Saket Chaudhary directed film!
Hindi Medium is a Hit and is now moving towards the Superhit mark.
