Overseas: ‘S-E-I’ opens well, falls in U.K.!

A love story coupled with a massive star cast always works wonders in Overseas and that went in favor of SALAAM-E-ISHQ too.

The film notched up an impressive start in U.K., although there were expectations that the film would cross £ 350,000 in its opening weekend

[including Thursday previews]. However, the film had a 72% fall in U.K. on Monday, which says it all.

In Australia, the start has been very good. Meanwhile, the exact U.S. numbers are awaited.

Weekend: January 26 – 28, 2007.

U.K. BOX-OFFICE

  • SALAAM-E-ISHQ has debuted at No. 11 position. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 293,809 [approx. Rs. 2.54 crores] on 49 screens,

    with the per screen average working out to £ 5,996. This total includes paid previews on Thursday.

The breakdown:- Thursday previews: £ 27,396; Friday: £ 69,921; Saturday: £ 114,076; Sunday: £ 82,416.

On Monday, the film collected £ 22,689 on 47 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 483.

    average working out to £ 1,453. Total: £ 436,010 [approx. Rs. 3.77 crores].
