Bhooth Bangla has been having a good run at the box office and this pretty much continued on Monday as well, what with Rs. 3.25 crores more coming in. Friday collections were Rs. 5.60 crores and hence the drop on Monday is less than 50%, which yet again reflects good stability at the box office.
There is Blockbuster Tuesday offer today which means footfalls would be much bigger than yesterday and even after deducted ticket prices, the overall collections would be healthier. Around Rs. 4.50 crores more are expected today and that would ensure not just double digit score over the weekdays but a lot more than that. This Monday hold has put the Akshay Kumar starrer in a good position to add around Rs. 13-14 crores on top of what it has earned so far till the weekend, which means two-week total should come to around Rs. 140 crores mark, what with Rs. 125.10 crores already being scored.
Bollywood has earned a good hit here and all eyes are now on which movie would be the next to first cross Rs. 50 crores mark and then aim for that 100 Crore Club entry. There are a lot of romcoms and romantic dramas that are arriving in May and that’s one genre where the last successful film was Tere Ishk Mein back in November. Certainly, the industry would look at more to be added to the list of successes once Ek Din, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, Chand Mera Dil and Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai arrive.
