The Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar film, Dhurandhar The Revenge has started to smash all box office records, as early estimates are suggesting collections in the range of Rs. 43 crores to Rs. 44 crores for the paid previews alone. The film has shattered all the paid previews records by a huge margin, as the previous best, Stree 2 (Rs. 9 crore) is not even in the race.
The film could have hit the Rs. 50 crore mark too with the right capacities, but nonetheless, its best not to be greedy and celebrate the business done. Words fall short to explain this phenomenon, and this is certainly just the beginning of something extraordinary, which could happen in the days to come.
The film is scoring historic results in advance bookings for the first day, with a real chance at collecting as high as Rs. 80 crores on Thursday, which is a partial holiday on account of Gudi Padwa. The collective first-day business of Dhurandhar in the Hindi language only in India will be around Rs. 125 crores (Rs. 150 crore gross), and the overseas too is expected to contribute about Rs. 80 crore from premieres and opening day.
The film is on track to surpass the first-day business of RRR, and emerge as #2 of all time after Pushpa 2 at the global box office. As far as Hindi is concerned, it's running a one-horse race in all parameters, as it will decimate all previous records held by Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal, and Ranbir Kapoor by a humongous margin.
