Raid starring Ajay Devgn, Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla released yesterday across 3400 screens in the domestic market. Despite this wide release and the positive reviews the film garnered the opening day business of Raid took off on a rather sluggish note.
In this box office analysis we take a look at the Opening day collections of Raid while comparing the same to previous releases of 2018. Collecting Rs. 10.04 cr, Raid has managed to surpass the collections of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety that had collected Rs. 6.42 cr to become the third highest opening day grosser of 2018. However, the business of Raid does not manage to out beat the collections of other releases like Padmaavat that had collected Rs. 24 cr, and Pad Man that had collected Rs. 10.26 cr on their opening day.
Apart from Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, the business of Raid on its opening day has managed to surpass other releases this year like Pari that collected Rs. 4.36 cr, Hate Story IV that collected Rs. 3.76 cr, and Aiyaary that collected Rs. 3.36 cr.
As of now, with good word of mouth and positive reviews the business of Raid is likely to see a jump in collections over its opening weekend. Though the on-going exam season might be a damper the business of the film isn’t expected to be affected much especially since Raid faces little competition from other releases.
