Amitabh and his Everlasting Light Click here to add this article to My Clips

By IndiaFM News Bureau, July 4, 2005 - 05:35 IST

After his critically acclaimed Let's Talk, Ram Madhvani is back with a 30-min documentary on Amitabh Bachchan titled 'Everlasting light' - a literal translation of AB's name.

The documentary was originally made for the New York Film Festival in April as a preamble to Bachchan retrospective. The documentary is mainly targeted at the international audiences who do not know Amitabh Bachchan. The documentary has international voices like Salman Rushdie, Suketu Mehta and Shashi Tharoor speaking on the Bollywood superstar.

The documentary speaks of Bachchan's career in films, his political stint, comebacks and Bofors through his own perspective. The documentary also features Bachchan reciting his father Harivanshrai Bachchan's poetry and speaking at length on his father, his school and college days. The Bachchans did not interfere in the making and did not ask for a single change, informs Madhvani.

This folk tale form of documentary was highly appreciated by the New York film festival director Richard Pena and the Bachchans.
