'Baabul' takes off

The team behind the super-successful BAGHBAN -- producer B.R. Chopra, director Ravi Chopra, Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini -- is back with B.R. Films' new film BAABUL. Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini faced the camera for the inaugural shot on a specially erected set at Film City. Producer B.R. Chopra sounded the clapper-board, while Bharat Shah switched on the camera and Delhi-U.P. distributor Ramesh Jain broke the auspicious coconut.

The mahurat was followed by a major shooting schedule of 40 days, during which two songs and scenes are being filmed.

The final cast of BAABUL is Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Salman Khan, Rani Mukerji, John Abraham, Om Puri, Aman Verma, Parmeet Sethi, Rajpal Yadav, Smita Jaykar, Beena, Avtar Gill, Vaishnavi and Gargi Patel. Music will be scored by Aadesh Shrivastava.
