Mangal Pandey - The Rising is going to be the first Indian film to open the Locarno Film Festival. Mangal Pandey is officially going to open the 58th Locarno Film Festival, to be held from August 3 to 13 in Switzerland. The film will also be a part of the competition section.

Producer Bobby Bedi is excited about the news and plans to send the film to other North American film festivals, once the film is released in India this August.

Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Ketan Mehta and Bobby Bedi will attend the screening of the film.
