A Rajasthani Paheli! Click here to add this article to My Clips

By IndiaFM News Bureau, June 9, 2005 - 12:30 IST

To go an extra mile to add an authentic touch to the films has become a recent trend of Bollywood. Hindi Film industry is striving to make their films look more authentic. Mainstream big budget films are breaking away from the conventions and experimenting.

Paheli is one of the awaited biggies with dialogues in Rajasthani dialects and ethnic touch. While some industry pundits feel that this could prove as a deterrent to the film; recent few films, which have done this, prove otherwise.

The recent success story is Salman Khan starrer Lucky - No Time For Love; the film had a lot of pivotal dialogues in Russian, however that did not hamper the business of the film. Same is the case with not so new Lagaan, where the local dialect Avadhi was used generously.

With the land of folktales- Rajasthan captured so beautifully, the film just might influence Rajasthan government lead by Vasundhara Raje, a film buff herself, for an entertainment tax exemption!!
