Mughal-e-Azam welcomed in Pak Click here to add this article to My Clips

By IndiaFM News Bureau, June 20, 2005 - 06:07 IST

Even as Bollywood continues to be banned in Pakistan, the Pakistani government has given a nod to Akbar Asif, K. Asif's son to release the colored version of Mughal - E- Azam in Pakistan.

Both the government and the President, despite the strong opposition, have approved the screening of the film. The Pakistani film industry is divided over the release of the film as they fear that it will hurt the business of the local industry, while the other few believe that the release will bring in the much needed freshness to their industry and the business.

However the government clarifies that the release of this film is a special case and it cannot be extended to the entire Bollywood.

A date of release has not been fixed yet. The income generated from the film will be donated to the tsunami victims.
