‘Aksar’ is hot

It’s rare to find distributors these days. In most cases, the producers have been compelled to release their films themselves in most territories. But Shyam Bajaj and Narendra Bajaj’s AKSAR, directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan, has proved to be an exception. You may find this hard to believe, but AKSAR was sold for all territories on the strength of its first promo itself that was aired on television last week.
“This promo [song: ‘Jhalak Dikhlaja’ – rendered by Himesh Reshammiya] did the trick for us,” Ananth sounds elated, “The producers were able to clinch the deal for all territories within a few days.” Slated for release on January 27, 2006, AKSAR has been shot in U.K. extensively and stars Emraan Hashmi and Udita Goswami [the ZEHER pair] with Dino Morea.
AKSAR is basically a romantic-suspense drama, focusing on the mind games between three people.
