Govinda’s unique birthday celebration

With an unsuccessful political career, a fatal car accident of his wife and kids and delivery of one of the biggest flops of the year Ssukh, year 2005 may not have been a great one for Govinda.
But the star did celebrate his birthday this year in a very unique manner. The actor turned politician joined his fans and well wishers, cut a birthday cake and also danced with them, at his Juhu bungalow. There was a special orchestra program organized for him by his party co-workers, which Govinda requested them to cancel. He thought that it would simply be a waste of money and suggested that it would be a better idea to provide blankets to the poor footpath dwellers instead.
His co-workers were very impressed by Govinda’s suggestion and they distributed nearly 2000 blankets among the shelter-less poor people in Borivali and Kandivli.
Now, here is a one star who really believes in giving back to the society. Govinda is definitely one of those few people who in spite of reaching the peaks of success in their lives remain firmly rooted in their core values.
