Nagesh, Shweta bag Kara Award for ‘Iqbal’

Nagesh Kukunoor and Shweta Prasad were adjudged best director and best supporting actor, respectively for Subhash Ghai’s IQBAL at the Karachi Film Festival, held from December 1 to 11.
Ghai had attended the opening of the Festival, where they showcased a retrospective of his films. Films showcased as part of this retrospective included IQBAL [opening film], KHAL-NAYAK, TAAL, PARDES and KISNA.
Commenting on this rare honor bestowed upon his actors, Ghai said, “It is heartening to know that Pakistan is recognizing Indian cinema and bringing people closer through cinema. I humbly accept their gracious gesture.”
