Superstar Amitabh Bachchan is said to be in stable condition after undergoing surgery for intestinal inflammation. However he is advised complete bed-rest for the next 8-10 days and may not be discharged till then. He was operated on by gastro-intestinal surgeon Dr P Jagganath of Leelavati Hospital. The surgery lasted for over four hours and now Bachchan is said to be responding to treatment well. By his side were his family members Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek and Shweta as well as friend and politician Amar Singh. Others on the well-wishers list included Ram Gopal Varma, Anil Ambani, Uddhav Thackeray and actress Jayaprada.
